Warrington U17s 12 - Blackpool 14
Warrington suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands of a
highly committed Blackpool team. Driven on by a "highly vocal" coach the
Blackpool squad came from 12 nil down to register a famous victory. It was
clear that Blackpool's strength lay in it's pack and they scored two tries
in the second half from close range. Warrington again scored both their
tries through their rapid back division, but were unable to close the game
out.
Poor decision making and a general lack of commitment to training and game
preparation let Warrington down and they will now have to show character to
bounce back.
The game was marred by a head injury to a Blackpool player who was
hospitalised as a result. All of Warrington wish him the very best.
