Rochdale U15s 9 - Warrington U15s 29

Warrington secured their first victory in this season's Lancashire Junior Challenge with a well deserved victory away at Rochdale. Playing on the 1st team pitch and on a hot morning meant that the Warrington players had to work very hard for their victory against a committed Rochdale outfit.

Warrington scored first when sustained pressure saw flanker Jeffers go over from close range. Warrington were then guilty of sloppy handling to allow Rochdale a scrum close to their own line, Rochdale capitalised well and their Number 8 scarpered over to score their first of the morning. Warrington then took a strangle hold on the game and scored another two tries through centres Lynch and Wilson. Wilson's in particular was an exceptional finish as he out-sprinted the Rochdale defence for 60 metres, to score under the posts.

Another defensive lapse by Warrington saw Rochdale capitalise well and score under the posts and despite being behind for most of the game
Rochdale played extremely well and were unlucky not to get something from the game.

Warrington finally sealed their victory with a another try for Jeffers which was converted by Arnold. Special mention should be given to Riley who moved from hooker to scrum half and showed that he has a good potential in that position. Notes also to Waldron on debut on the wing and Pearson who did very well playing his first game as hooker.

Credit to both teams for a great game of rugby played by two committed and disciplined sides who are a credit to their respective clubs.
