Altrincham U12's 7 - Warrington U12's 49

Over the past few weeks reports have been fed back to Warrington that Altrincham Kersal, the Cheshire champions are to use Steves words "foaming at the mouth" in anticipation of finally beating Warrington during the forthcoming re arranged fixture.

During the first few minutes both teams defended well, clearing the ball away from the rucks and mauls with Altrincham rucking over and clearing out exceptionally well. Warrington in training have been running moves to defend at these critical times. Some 6 minutes into the game Warrington went over at the corner, with Jacob converting rubbing salt into the wound as he goes to school with a few of the opponents. During the the next 15 minutes Warrington scored another 2 tries to go in at the break 21 - 0. After the re-start Altrincham came out with fire in the blood quickly moving the ball out to the wing, two poor tackles allowed a run down the wing to land their deserved first try adding a further 2 points with the conversion. This spurred Warrington on, moving the ball around the field and putting pressure on the full back with some good high kicks and chase.

Altrincham defended well stopping several possible tries, and clearing the ball from the line. Warrington did not help themselves, dropping the ball at critical times during two on ones or over running the ball carrier giving the referee no option but to call several forward passes, denying possible try making opportunities. However during the second half Warrington scored another 4 tries which were then converted.
