| Fleetwood 2nd XV 0pts - Warrington 2nd XV 17pts
Warrington 2nd team survived atrocious conditions and a boggy pitch to record yet another win that keeps them in the promotion hunt. Due to injuries and absences, Warrington were only able to take a squad of 15 to the game, 4 of whom were playing their first games for the 2's this season. But debutantes Morley, Wally Kerai, Stafford and in particular O'Callaghan, who put in a man of the match performance from the back row, all impressed in this hard-fought game.
Playing against the wind, Warrington took the lead at the end of the first half when West broke through to touch down under the posts. McDermott converted and, with the wind at their backs in the second half, Warrington began to dominate. The conditions made open running rugby impossible though, and it was with only 10 minutes to go that O'Callaghan scored the second - taking a quick throw in to himself and charging over. The win was sealed with a third try moments later when Hamblett defied the ageing process to scamper over following a scrum. Team strategist Steve Tickle said "This is yet another important win and shows that we have the strength in depth to cope with the demands of both league and cup competitions".
