| Warrington 2nd XV 29 - Oldershaw 2nd XV- 13
Warrington 2nd team continued their great recent run of results with an impressive victory over a strong Oldershaw team. Warrington again had a full bench and used all of the five substitutes. Warrington went behind early on as the Warrington defence was asleep, allowing the Oldershaw scrum half to scamper around the fringes and touch down under the posts. However, Warington's strong and dominant pack, expertly led by Turner and Graham laid the platform for two rolling maul tries; each scored by the pack generals. Turner then got another try when he was fed on the blindside by the ever green Hamblett.
Once the forward platform had been laid then Warrington were able to open up their fast, young backs who looked sharp all day. The midfield of Rockey and Mullen and later Flint ran the Oldershaw midfield ragged. Griffiths jnr again ran hard from full back and continues to impress in every game. Tierney and Hughes won plenty of line out ball which allowed Farrell, playing back at scrum half and Mc Dermott at stand off to create further tries for John Farrell and Flint.
It was a great show of forward power at its best and backplay at its most creative.
Warrington entertain Lymm on Saturday. Each of the 21 players on Saturday knew that they were playing for the chance to play in this much fancied local derby. Coach Stewart Coleman said after the game " The lads played like they were playing for places. However, there may be some disappointed players after selection as the competition for places is fierce. Saying that, the team spirit is excellent at the moment and we cannot wait for next Saturday to come along"
