Rossendale 2nd - 20 Warrington 2nd - 7

This was a thoroughly competative and even game that was played out with a hard yet disciplined spirit by the ever improving Warrington second team. Warrington were unlucky to have lost the game against a huge Rossendale pack who sported some massive men. Warrington were well served in the lineout by the almost telapathic understanding of Sean hughes and Martin Tierney. Warrington did not lose one lineout all day.

Warrington scored the first try of the afternoon after some great drives by the forwards, led by Leah Graham set the platform for some slick handling by the backs to put Danny Griffiths into the corner. The small, yet mobile and aggressive back row of Kev Jones, James Farrell and Jayesh Kerai tackled above their weight all afternoon. The two big hits of the afternoon however came from Shaun " youv'e been Jabbered" Geritas and John " have that" Farrell. Gideon Hamblett went retro reverting back to his original position of wing which he played some 20 years ago.

The front were led superbly by the ever improving Steve Tickle, who this week only saw off one prop. Mike Hartill at scrum half led the pack with authority and skill.

The 2nd team spirit cannot be criticised, however they must cut down on the penalty count and attempt tp train more if further improvement is to be made.
