| Sandbach 2nd XV - 21pts - Warrington 2nd XV - 12pts
All good things must come to an end...... and that is what happened on Saturday when Sandbach broke Warrington’s run of 11 undefeated games. It is true to say that the first 10 minutes of the game were decisive as Sandbach scored two tries in the first 10 minutes to go 10-0 up. Warrington were always playing catch up from that moment on and although Warrington were skilled enough to change their game plan mid game, the Sandbach defence was terrific. Warrington’s set piece was under pressure for the first time all season which never allowed the backs clean ball. Warrington scored tries through Rhian Mullen and Phil Griffiths, the latter of the two scoring his first try for 10 years.
Warrington must now re- group for a tough run in as they head towards the end of the season, starting next week with Marple away.
