| Warrington 2nd XV- 42pts - Trafford MV – 5pts
Warrington 2nd team remain in second place in the league, but only on points difference after a fantastic display against a spirited Trafford team.
Warrington go into a tough run of games against.Sandbach, Marple and leigh, then against Wigan in the semi- final of the cup.
Warrington produced some excellent running rugby on Saturday with Mc Dermott at 10 and Hartill at 9 orchestrating their young back line. Scorers on the day were Mullen with 3, Flint, Rockey and Hughes each with one each. Warrington scored possibly the try of the season when skipper Kerai ran half the length of the pitch to feed West in support, who then put Mullen in for the touchdown in the corner. Warrington’s line out and scrums were spot on and the forwards kept the ball flowing in contact by off loading and supporting all day. Just when Trafford thought the onslaught was over, Warrington brought on players with the experience and ability of Griffiths, Millington and Hamblett. Rickard ran strong in the centres as did Tierney and Wheatley in the pack.
Warrington 2nd team are now undefeated in their last 11 games and coach Stewart Coleman says “ At times we played some fantastic rugby on Saturday, however our goal is to play at that level for the whole of the game. That is very difficult to do, but I believe that we have the personalities to handle the pressure. Selection will again be very tough this week”
