Welcome to Warrington Rugby Union Club
A Final Message From Our Retiring President
"The season will be remembered for the extraordinary manner of the 1st team's escape from relegation, winning 7 of their last 9 league games. It was the way they did, it in style, with great teamwork, playing scintillating rugby. Pace was the key and most opposition crumbled in the face of it. A special vote of thanks must go to the coaching staff, who never gave up on their charges and insisted on playing expansive rugby even when the team seemed doomed to relegation.
The 2nds, coached and mentored by Stu Coleman and Steve West, also played wonderful rugby and deserved their Champions tag, especially by racking up 80 points in their last game.
The 3rds, organised, cajoled and often inspired by the irrepressible Tom Wray, completed our trio of successes by playing hard, competitive rugby all season to deserve promotion to a higher league. All in all a marvellous season leaving the club in rude health. Almost the best aspect is that all this has been achieved with hardly an incident of foul play. Well done to all teams and a personal thank you from me. I have seen some great rugby! Now for the big push.

Warrington RUFC Welcomes New Player Coach

Andy Roberts, a stand-off who previously played for Altrincham Kersal and Lymm, has decided to join Warrington RUFC as player/coach. He will join the strong senior coaching team of Steve Riley, Darren Abram, Jeff Millington, Jim Park and Stu Coleman, as well providing coaching skills for the mini rugby section.
“I believe that Warrington has a superb approach to coaching and player development, says Andy, “and I hope I can help to strengthen the coaching base while at the same time, learning a lot from some excellent coaches, who offer a wealth of experience.”
Andy (25) is a PE teacher at Bridgewater High School.
