U16s Lymn 19 - Warrington 21
In their first match of the season Warrington faced local rivals Lymn, Warrington looked sharp taking total control and dominating the first half with tires from Jack Bottomley, Sam Hibbert & Joe Guest with a try and three conversions. From the start of the second half Warrington looked a totally different team and this allowed Lymn to mount a comeback. However the lights came on Warrington put up a defensive shield and managed to hold firm till the final whistle.
The fitness training kindly provided by Sean Burns at the Village Hotel certainly paid off, faced with the same situation this time last year their heads would have dropped and we would have come out losers. To everyone's credit the team stood solid, dug in and held on for a well deserved victory.
