U10s - Warrington U10’s 25 v Blackburn U10’s 15
Our first home game of the season against a depleted Blackburn squad saw us come out on top by 5 tries to 3.
The opposition only had 7 players on parade and we duly let them have two of our guys, Will and Isaac volunteering for duty to make up their numbers. Both must be congratulated on putting in a professional performance, neither shirking their responsibilities, both deserving of the ‘three cheers’ from the Blackburn squad. In fact, I’ve not seen Isaac have a better game such was his commitment in the tackle.
Due to the lack of numbers we played two 15 minutes halves, the first half closely contested with Blackburn coming out on top going over on the last play.
The 2nd half was just a keenly contested but we managed to come out on top by three tries to nil.
We mauled very well, continually turning the ball over after Blackburn had taken it in. They out fought us in the ruck as again we showed a reluctance to ‘ruck over’ the ball after we’d set it up, more practise needed in that department.
Great individual runs from Jamie A, Will, Cam & Tom, ably supported by some good tackling from Aaron, Spencer & Charlie.
Michael, Brett & Jack are visibly increasing in confidence and contributing more as each game passes.
Special mention to Luke T who narrowly missed out on his maiden try with a great run down the right wing. More of the same will bring rewards I'm sure, and great to see him get up after a bang on the head, those head guards really do their job!!!
