Lymm 3rd 15pts - Warrington 2nd 28pts

Warrington’s second team showed that there is one side in the club which can come from behind and totally destroy the opposition in the second half. Trailing by 15-7 just after the turn around, Warrington converted to turbo-charged attacking mode and blitzed Lymm with three superb tries.

Lymm took an early lead through a penalty and then went further ahead with a forwards try, which was converted. Warrington replied when man-of-the-match Craig Byrne burst through from a line-out to touch down near the posts and allow Hamblett an easy conversion.

Lymm scored their second try five minutes after the restart but Warrington now started to assume control. With the forwards setting the standards, especially though Byrne, Higham and White, it was fitting that second row Hughes should begin the fight back with a signature 40 yard effort. This was followed by a well-worked try from Hamblett, playing out of position on the wing and the try fest was completed when captain-for-the-day Jones powered over between the sticks. Hamblett converted all the tries.
