Warrington 2nd XV 19 - Northwich 2nd XV 57

Tries from White and Bray converted by McEvoy gave Warrington a 14 – 8 half time lead despite having to play virtually the whole of the half with thirteen men. The advent of late comers, possibly confused by the clock change and the earlier kick-off, instead of bolstering Warrington, seemed to engender a general easing off and reluctance to tackle. Man of the match McEvoy added one more try and had another disallowed but Northwich’s second half resurgence emphasised the need for 80 minute commitment.
