Warrington trailed throughout in a fairly even game where Sefton edged the battle in being quicker to the breakdown. A Nicholson try in the first half, converted by Griffiths and second half try by Davis always kept Warrington in contention but indiscipline cost them dearly with too many penalties conceded.
