Northwich 2nd 38 - Warrington 3rd 20

Warrington’s third team showed great spirit in continuing to compete right up to the last minute in the difficult encounter at Northwich.

The heavier and pacier Northwich side totally dominated for the first twenty minutes and they soon built up a 33 point lead. However, Warrington reduced the deficit by a try from Griffiths and then a penalty from the same player.

The second half saw Warrington take the initiative, first with an excellent try from man of the match John Done, who proved that no man is an island by starting at prop and then moving to second row, and then with an awesome try from Ryan Mullen, who ghosted through the Northwich defence to score between the posts.
